Connected to the Gigaplane are up to 30 high-speed UltraSPARCTM processors, 30 GB of memory, and 30 200-MB/sec I/O channels. The system also has built-in redundancy, so it can tolerate power supply, cooling, or storage failures without affecting system operation and can automatically recover from most other failures, such as CPU faults, with minimal disruption.
