The Netra t1 server is Sun's entry-level server specifically created for service providers. Designed with input from service providers themselves, the Netra t1 server is a low-cost, full-functioned, single-processor server. Its small form factor (1U or 1.75" height) and serviceability features makes it an excellent choice for rack-mount environments. The Netra t1 server ensures maximum availability with features such as lights-out management (LOM), automatic server restart (ASR) and hot-pluggable disks.

A complete Solaris (SPARC Platform Edition) server in a very small footprint, the Netra t1 server is an ideal compute element for any IP-intensive deployment. It can be deployed as a dedicated platform for infrastructure services such as firewalls, DNS, log processing and authentication, as well as for revenue services such as Web hosting

The Netra t1 server can be configured with either a 360-MHz UltraSPARC IIi processor or a 440-MHz UltraSPARC IIi processor with up to 2 MB of external cache. It can accommodate up to 1 GB of main memory and up to 36 GB of internal disk capacity.
