The Sunrise E2000FR 2U Fibre-Channel to IDE RAID System provides the next generation of high-density RAID solutions. The E2000 includes 12 drive bays in a 2U form factor and offers multiple configuration options, such as single or dual Ultra 160 SCSI (E2000SR) and single or dual fibre channel (E2000FR) host connections. It is designed for maximum flexibility and scalability. The design enables you to maximise the return on your investment by offering the highest number of drives in a 2U form factor.

Unsurpassed fault-tolerance results from eliminating all potential points of failure. The 12 disk drives are connected to the controller through a completely cable-free internal backplane. The powerful on-board Fault Management Module (FFM) carries out proactive fault monitoring. It provides time-stamping of events and monitors ambient air temperature as well as drive temperature to detect high temperature thresholds.

A powerful 64-bit PowerPC processor with up to 1GB of cache memory powers the built in RAID controller. The use of 12 separate disk drive channels ensures a single drive failure cannot compromise the RAID systems stored data.

The RAID system supports single or multiple arrays, online expansion, dual host connections and clustering.
